Catholic Bishops Elect New SACBC President

"The Southern Africa Catholic Bishops’ Conference meeting in Mariannhill have elected Bishop Sithembele Sipuka, presently the Bishop of the Diocese of Mthatha, as the New SACBC President.

Bishop Dabula Mpako of the Diocese of Queenstown has been elected as the first Vice-President, while Bishop Graham Rose of Dundee will be the Second Vice-President. 

Bishop Sithembele will take over from Archbishop Stephen Brislin in February 2019.

The Catholic Church would like to commend Archbishop Brislin for his outstanding service during his tenure as the SACBC President.

The term of SACBC Presidential office is three years and the president is eligible for election for a second successive term."
