I would like to share with you something I shared last year with the Sacred Heart Sodality in our diocese. I know they still remember it because it is difficult to forget or to ignore.
You might be one of the few or the only sodality whose name points directly to God and, in God, your name points to the identity of God because God is love.
Other sodalities’ names points to beautiful, amazing and loved saints: St Anne, St Joseph, Sodality of Mary (Children of Mary), St Cecilia or to their identity: Catholic Women’s League, ECCW, ECCM. In our diocese, we have one exception: the Divine Mercy Sodality.
You call us to look at God directly.
Remember this every single day of your life because – like with any other sodality – this talks about who you are, your identity, and what your mission is.
Your mission is to help us know, understand and experience the love of God in the Church and in society.
