Prayer for Peace in Mozambique
God of love and source of peace
look with mercy at our country Mozambique
especially at regions where there have been armed attacks.
Come to our help and preserve us from war.
Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace,
you who were unjustly condemned
and brutally assassinated,
here the cries of the victims of war and violence,
shelter the helpless
and give us that peace that only you can give.
Holy Spirit, Father of the poor,
come and live in our families,
convert those making war
and those enriching themselves from it.
Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace,
intercede for us,
so that our children and youth
can play, study and grow
without fear in our villages,
neighbourhoods and cities.
So that our aged can enjoy
the fruits of their old age in peace,
and that we can all sleep,
work and live peacefully,
and be witnesses of life, justice and peace.
Amen
