A men's thing... part two!

This is not a continuation of the previous post. It just happens to be another post on Catholic men in our Diocese.

For some time, some of our Catholic men at Christ the King parish (Hlatikulu) had been preparing themselves to join the sodality of St Joseph's.

Up to know, our diocese had only the "Divine Mercy" sodality which is present at the Cathedral.

Joining St Joseph's, or taking the first steps towards it, would give birth to a presence of the sodality in our diocese.

It happened last Sunday, feast of Christ the King (patronal feast of that parish). Ten men committed themselves towards becoming one day full members.

What made our celebration "special" was the presence of 109 men from Mariannhill Diocese, members of the Sodality of St Joseph's who came to our Diocese with three of their priests. They arrived on Friday evening and visited Swaziland on Saturday.

"I am not used to see so many men in Church" I jokingly said at the beginning of the homily as, together with them, we had representatives of the SCCM who joined us from the different parishes. It was a wonderful experience of being one church helping each other to grow. Mariannhill is around 500 km away and... of course, you need a passport to cross into Swaziland.
