Two initiatives for Lent

Tomorrow, with the celebration of "ash Wednesday" we will being our Lenten journey towards the celebration of Easter.

The digital world offers lots of resources to help us during this journey. I would like to point out "two local ones".

The first one is an initiative of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference (SACBC) which offers a daily reflection on Facebook prepared by one of the Bishops. The very first one was prepared by our president, archbishop Stephen Brislin (archdiocese of Cape Town).

You can follow them by clicking "like" on the SACBC Facebook page or by visiting the SACBC webpage (www.sacbc.org.za) where I think they will be published daily

The second one is done by our Diocese of Manzini (Swaziland). These are not texts by "sound files". Fr Zweli Ngwenya reads a text prepared by Fr Dumisani Mazibuko on the meaning of the Lenten Season. It lasts three or four minutes and it is done both in English and Swazi languages.

We hope to be able to offer a reflection on each Sunday of the Lenten season.
