Time to thank the people of St Lucia

Vote of thanks before the final blessing
"Thank you all for coming. Thanks to all those coming from far... like Bp Barry Wood from Durban and the priests who came from Gauteng province (Jhb and Pretoria). We also have people who came from far away places like... Swaziland!!! and from Australia and England!
Thanks to all you come from the different parishes of the Vicariate... This is a diocesan event though we could not make it as big as our diocesan pilgrimage.

1. From the beginning of June last year we had to move out of the plot. We could no longer celebrate Mass at our chapel. “Seasands Lodge” came to our rescue offering us a place every Sunday for free. In other words, for the last 16 months, Seasands Lodge became our home. We would like to say “thank you” for such a gift with a framed picture of the St Lucia stained glass.
Thanking "Seasands Lodge"
2. As I mentioned in the homily, compacting the soil meant everything was shaking every day. We are deeply grateful to Shelly from “Sunset Lodge” and Ermilda from St Lucia Wilds for their patience. Our friendship did not shake!

3. We would not like to talk about VIPs today but there are some people who I would like you to know:
  • Sylvie Vantillard, the architect
  • Estelle Valle and … responsible for the beautiful stained glass of St Lucia
  • Johan, who came to St Lucia in June last year and became one of us
  • there has been a team actively involved in this project:
    • Rudy and Marlene Redinger
    • Nidia Brits
    • Alfredo Stefanini
    • Warwick and Elaine
    • Tony da Silva
  • finally Lenny Willson the project manager who brought all of us together every six weeks, dealt with every detail, presented his plans and listened to our comments.

4. The “buy-a-brick” project continues for another year as, though the building is finished, we now have to finish... paying it! The "Thank you" certificates are ready. You can collect them after Mass.
