An update on the St Lucia Retreat and Training Centre

Last week the "St Lucia team" (lay people from the area, the project manager, priests and the bishop) met for an update on the progress of the project. We have been doing that every six weeks for the last year.

At this point one would expect not to find anything new but... it is not true. I had been at St Lucia a week earlier and as soon as I arrived I found the work on the pavement having started.

The area of the wall of remembrance (where people would be able to place the ashes of their loved ones) has been cleared making somehow space for a private area of personal prayer.

Security has been improved at the hall allowing at the same time the view of the lake from inside.

The same applies to the cottages

The famous "hole" is not longer there and the area is being leveled both for landscaping and parking

and, of course, one cannot avoid taking every time a new photo of the church from different angles.
It looks beautiful (and wait until we take one at night!)
