The
previous time I visited Pigg's Peak, Fr Makhama shared with me his
wish to start a sewing project: “Women always make a difference
in the family”.
I knew
a family in Argentina who would be willing to support the project as
they had already done that at Star of the Sea Parish (KwaNgwanase,
South Africa). They, in fact, immediately supported the idea.
Last
Sunday Fr Makhama showed me the new machines... so new that they were
still in the box. He had secured a place and also an agreement with a
training centre so that those who will attend the course would also
get a certificate.
At the
same time, he first wants to hear from the women themselves what
their needs are so that the project is able to answer them.
